My Story

From a childhood in India to a calling in California.

The Journey to Yoga

Despite growing up in India, the birthplace of Yoga, I was introduced to it only in my late thirties after settling in America. I was looking for ways to more effectively manage the typical stress of mid-life and thought Yoga might be the way. After a year of searching for the right teacher, the stars seemed to align.

Meeting an inspiring teacher led me to take the leap and sign up for a teacher training program. I took to it like a fish to water, and I have no hesitation in saying that Yoga turned out to be my true calling, changing my life forever!

"A fun side story: my daughter who was 4 years old at the time met my teacher and later said to me, 'Dad, you should also become a Yoga teacher!' I'm sure that stayed in the back of my mind and influenced my decision."

A Passion for Wellness

In addition to Yoga, I am passionate about Health & Wellness in general. Building upon the healthy genes and an active nature I have inherited, lifestyle changes related to diet and exercise have allowed me to transform my health over the last 15 years, significantly improving my weight, BMI and other key health parameters.

I am a true believer that health is the greatest wealth and without it, nothing else matters! While striving to maintain my own health, I am now increasingly focused on helping others on their wellness journeys by sharing my experience and the knowledge I have gained.

I work with various non-profits in the health & wellness space – serving on the board of CWC (Crack the Wellness Code) and also supporting the South Asian Heart Center and YogaBharati.
